I LOVE this photo. I've mentioned previously our spontaneous trip to Chicago during the World Series. Well, this picture is from that. The trip was just so much fun. We had never been on the ferris wheel at Navy Pier and decided that would be a fun thing to do. The higher the wheel got, the more nervous McKenna became. Soon she was in full sobs because she was terrified of heights. I didn't know she was afraid. But, at the same time she was laughing hysterically - and so were we. Some of my favorite things were happening all at the same time - We were laughing hysterically together; We were all together; We were taking in the most spectacular view of the city that we all (well maybe not Katy) love; We were making memories; We were adventuring and exploring new things.
Another fun aspect of this picture is how calm Katy looks. Katy feels much anxiety in crowds and cities. She was a willing participant in all that the city offered, but I wouldn't say she enjoyed it all. This is one of the places she relaxed. It is hard to find a place of your own in a city of millions of people. The inside of a ferris wheel cart is as good as it gets and she fully embraced it. I loved seeing her relax. I love my crew!
