Traveling Back in Time

One of my favorite movies growing up was Back to the Future. The main character, Marty, goes back in the future and interacts with his parents, foes, and friends. One thing he cannot do it give advice about the future to anyone. He actually leaves a small note for Doc that save his life in the present. I wonder what advice I would give myself if I went back in the future. I don't think there is anything super significant that I would want to avoid. Most of those challenging times have helped me become who I am today. But, one piece of advice would be greatly appreciated.

Having our four kids close together was exciting, exhausting, and also somtimes fun. But, those teenage years were extremely difficult. I would definitely advise myself to "chill out!" I would say to enjoy them more and give them slack when they are being dumb teenagers. Also, even though they don't want them, give them lots of hugs. They may be bristly, but their pokies are so bad when you hug them. I know so much more about teenagers now that I don't have them. I'd be a much better mom of teens if I could do it again. (Not that I really want to.) Those were very very hard years, but I could totally have made them easier on all of us with just one simple word to myself - "CHILL!"
