What Was the Biggest News Headline on January 20, 1970? Is It Still Relevant?

I was born on January 20, 1970. There were 332,888 babies born on that day. On that day in history, Bobby Hull was named the MVP in the NHL All-Star game. What's funny is that I only know the names of two hockey players in history - one of them being Bobby Hull. He must have been good. The number one song on that day was "Raindrops Keeps Falling on My Head" which has always been a favorite of mine. My sister Wendy and I used to stand on the hearth with microphones and sing at the top of our lungs while it played on the 8 track tape.

Every four years, the 20th of January is Inauguration Day. I remember the inauguration of several presidents - Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. I also remember the inauguration of Donald Trump. I watched the evening news coverage of the story. (Sidenote: that is the last time I watched any news on television.) But, 1970 wasn't an inauguration year. No one was inaugurated on that day. This year, Joe Biden was inaugurated. The next day I woke up with a bigger sense of hope and peace than I have felt in the last four years. It was refreshing. And that has nothing to do with my birthdate. I just wanted to remember it.
